Can I use this with my home Wi-Fi and control watering from the app
Yes. The Water Controller works with the included gateway and the Connect SmartHome App. The gateway must be connected to the app first, then the Water Controller is paired to the gateway. For setup, use a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, as 5GHz networks are not supported.
What happens if there is not enough sunlight, and is it safe for everyday outdoor use
The Water Controller uses 2 x AA rechargeable batteries for operation. In strong direct sunlight, the front solar panel helps power the device and recharge those batteries. For best results, install rechargeable batteries as recommended and follow the setup steps in the manual for normal outdoor household watering use.
